In order to truly show up for you as a therapist, I am committed to doing my own therapeutic and healing work. I have used the modalities I practice, and engage with my own Internal Family System on a daily basis. This allows me to stay in Self energy and support you as you work with your parts system. I also bring an intuitive, spiritual lens to my sessions. I have been studying and practicing shamanic work for the past eight years.
My Education & Experience
I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, emphasis in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University. I also hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College, and I spent the first 13 years of my career as a high school English teacher in San Diego, CA. While attending graduate school in Boulder, I fell in love with Colorado and have made it my new home.
In my time as a therapist I have worked with a variety of individuals, including those dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, domestic violence, and substance use disorders, and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
I am a Licensed Addiction Counselor and previously worked as a primary therapist at an addiction treatment center. I completed my training in EMDR trauma therapy at Maiberger Institute in Boulder, CO, and I completed Level 1 IFS training with the IFS Institute. In addition, I have trained in shamanic work for the past eight years, which informs my worldview and therapy practice. My practice is LGBTQ+ friendly.
